Electric Car Pusher Solves Dealers’ Vehicle Movement Problems

Superman can move cars and other vehicles with the touch of a finger. Unfortunately, for mere mortals, this time-consuming process can result in damage and injuries. Turn your employees into superheroes with the CarCaddy, our electric car pusher from DJ Products.

Why the CarCaddy Is the Solution for Your Dealership

How many hours are spent each day moving cars, trucks and trailers around at your auto lot or service center? Safety risk creates a greater cost, as injured employees are restricted to light duty or have to miss work altogether.

When the vehicle in question is stalled or inoperative, the process is even more involved. Manually pushing a car or truck overextends the body and places undue strain on muscles and joints. Employees will often resort to pushing the stalled vehicle with another vehicle, which is likely to cause expensive damage to one or both.

Our CarCaddy keeps your business running smoothly and protects your employees from injury. When used on flat ground, the CarCaddy allows a single person to move loads of 20,000 pounds. On a three percent grade, this sturdy mover can push 10,000 pounds with ease.

The electric car pusher is eco-friendly, operating on battery power instead of fuel. Customers also appreciate the CarCaddy’s compact size that enables it to maneuver vehicles around corners and through tight spaces.

Features of the CarCaddy

Here are some of the features that make the CarCaddy such a cost-effective and powerful tool for any auto yard:

* The CarCaddy operates on three 12-volt batteries, with a charger that’s compatible with 120/220 AC outlets.

* A high-tech speed controller and neutral throttle braking provide safe operation.

* The variable speed handlebar twist grip is ergonomically designed to lessen repetitive motion injuries.

* The adaptable push pad protects bumpers, eliminating the risk of marks or other damage.

* Optional features include winter weather tires, flashing lights and heavy-duty upgrades to handle vehicles up to 50,000 pounds.

The Amazing Trend of “Green” Cars for Dealerships

Hybrid/green car trends
Hybrid/green car trends

Hybrid sales increased not too long ago as awareness over environmental harm from car emissions grew. In the last couple of years, though, car makers have backed away building to feed this market. With the recent steep drop in gas prices, consumers have been more willing to spend their money on traditional gas powered less efficient cars rather than on hybrids or EV models. One car maker, Lexus, however has remained committed to manufacturing hybrid “green” vehicles.

Lexus Hybrids Lead the Way

Two of the vehicles that Lexus sells the most include the NX class and RX class, which are both hybrids. Sales of the RX 450h hybrid are up 34 percent this year, while sales of the NX 300h hybrid are up 24 percent. Roughly one out of every ten vehicles that Lexus sells is a hybrid, and the company doesn’t plan to slow down production of these models any time soon.

Lexus also stands out from the rest of the competition by offering hybrid versions of all of its best-selling car models, as well as a hybrid-only model in the CT 200h. As other car manufacturers move away from hybrids, Lexus has been able to maintain steady sales of its hybrid models. This trend is expected to continue, although other car makers may start focusing on hybrids again when gas prices begin to increase.

Auto Recalls Hit Dealership Pocketbooks

Big Payouts From Auto Recalls
In a battle of legal and ethical concerns, new and used car dealers across the nation are grappling with a crisis of dead inventory. At the center of the problem lies millions of Honda cars with recalled airbags.

Used cars with open recalls may be sold legally, but industry leaders and the Federal Trade Commission are pushing for transparency. Customers need to be warned about open recalls, and that often shuts down the sale.

On lots across the country, dealers are looking for ways to store used cars that cannot be sold. At the same time, dealers need new inventory pumped in to keep sales numbers afloat.

For dealers who need to move dead inventory to storage lots, part of the solution will be a motorized car pusher. These pieces of equipment can maneuver vehicles to service centers, around lots, and onto trailers. The operator walks along and steers while a battery-powered motor propels the car pusher up to 3 miles per hour.

In the case of the Honda airbags, the manufacturer says parts will be available to address the huge 2.2-million vehicle recall by late summer 2016. Dealers with stock on their hands may want a solution to set affected vehicles aside.

Of course, there will be more major auto recalls. The head of AutoNation has pledged not to sell vehicles with recalls, and CarMax offers online info about recalls. Whether new regulation is created or not, it seems clear that used car dealerships are moving toward restricting sales of recalled vehicles.

Move Stalled Vehicles Quickly in the Cold with a Car Pusher

We have mentioned that it can be quite a chore to move a stalled vehicle in the heat of summer but it is also no fun to need to move a stalled vehicle in the bitter cold of winter. If your company has a fleet of vehicles we are sure you work to keep them well maintained but that doesn’t guarantee that you won’t need to move one of these vehicles when the temperatures drop. Or perhaps the vehicles you need to move aren’t yours but belong to customers—if that is the case then you need something that can move the staled vehicle without the kind of damage that occurs when you use one vehicle to push another.

Either way, if your cart, car, or piece of equipment has all straight wheels or is on a rail, then DJ Products ergonomic solutions help solve material handling applications where no turning is required.

Our CarCaddy car pusher can push stalled vehicles across the lot at a service center or along a highway. And as we’ve mentioned, it will not damage the vehicle since the front push pad of the CarCaddy car and vehicle pusher is made of a soft, durable, padded material designed to preserve the paint and integrity of the back end of the stalled vehicle while also protecting the car and vehicle pusher.

Push or pull buses, trucks, and cars up to 10,000 lbs. with the DealerCaddy truck pusher. Its adjustable push pad was designed to contour the bumper on the back of any vehicle.

Vehicle Pushers Reduce Injury Risk

DJ Products’ ergonomically designed vehicle pushers, movers and tugs can significantly decrease the risk of injury in the plant, out on the lot and on the assembly line. These products provide the perfect solution for vehicles or equipment that have straight wheels or are moved on a rail. They can be used in any application where no turning is involved or where an operator will turn the wheels.

Why risk costly injury to workers or damage to vehicles? Our vehicle movers push vehicles safely from behind, preventing workers from straining or over-extending muscles. The push pad on our vehicle movers is made of a soft, durable, padded material designed to prevent scratching or damage to the vehicle.

We produce several vehicle pushers to meet a variety of material handling needs:

A trailer lift kit is available.

Lightening the Load on Mechanic and Body Shop Employees with a Car Pusher

Consumers bring their vehicles to auto mechanic repair shops and body shops following involvement in an accident in order to get them looking and driving like new again.  Many of the cars that end up on the lot of a mechanic’s shop or body shop have serious problems, some are completely inoperable.  If mechanic and body shop employees don’t have access to the right equipment in order to perform their job duties this type of work can be very labor intensive and much more difficult than it has to be.

Mechanic and body shop employees who don’t have a piece of equipment like the car pusher from DJ Products have to manually push disabled cars into bays for repair.  This can easily lead to overexertion and the possibility of a serious and painful injury, even for employees who are normally capable of handling instances of physical labor.

In instances where employees want to maneuver an inoperable vehicle without having to resort to manual labor another vehicle may be used.  While this is certainly easier on the employee, it can do damage to both vehicles in the process and ultimately create more work for the business.

A car pusher from DJ Products allows a single employee to easily maneuver a disabled vehicle without overexertion or fear of injury.  In addition to keeping employees safe and injury free during the normally daunting task of moving a disable vehicle across a lot, the car pusher also keeps the vehicles safe.  The pad which is placed against the vehicle that requires pushing is soft and forgiving and prevents the dents, dings and scratches often incurred when using another vehicle for pushing.

By adding a car pusher to their tool and equipment arsenal a mechanic can instantly increase the efficiency at the very same time that they create a safe environment for their valuable employees.

A Car Pusher Increases Sales and Profits

Summer is a big time of year for car sales and repairs. Increases in vacations and long trips have many travelers looking to ensure that they are getting behind the wheel of a safe vehicle and that causes a boost in business for dealers and mechanics.

This causes more product to be pushed into already crowded lots and plenty of congestion at busy mechanic shops. In order for employees to safely and effectively cope with all of the extra activity that goes on during the summer they need access to the most appropriately designed equipment for their job. Adding a piece of equipment like the car pusher from DJ Products can instantly make moving new and used cars in either one of these environments much safer and easier.

Employees who have access to the car pusher have complete control over the car or truck that they are pushing without having to deal with the physical strain associated with having to move it manually. Auto lot and mechanic employees can deftly maneuver inoperable vehicles in and out of cramped repair bays or move new cars from one end of a lot to another with no fear of accidents or injuries.

Keeping valuable employees injury free and keeping cars free of damage is the only way that a busy auto lot or mechanic shop can effectively keep up with these increases in business. Customers don’t want to experience excessive delays when their cars are being serviced and few customers would be willing to pay sticker price for a car that has been unnecessarily damaged on the lot.

Investing in a piece of equipment like the car pusher increases productivity at the same time that it reduce the risk of damage and injury. This allows auto lots and mechanic shops to keep up with increases in volume, improve service level and generate additional profits.

The Snow is Coming to your Car Lot

The winter season is on its way and before you know it the kids will be listening closely for school closing updates on the radio. The new and used car lot owner will also be anticipating the snow with but with far less enthusiasm. It will mean a time of few customers and that is never good. Auto mechanic shops are not very fond of the winter either, there may be more tow jobs but people just won’t be as ready to take their car in for normal maintenance.

Then there are the preparations that need to be made before the storm hits. Part of this preparation can include a DJ Products car caddy vehicle pusher. With this time of year being a drain on some business, the car pusher can be a way to save some money. Using this versatile piece of equipment can keep vehicles safe from damage and prevent employees from suffering unnecessary injuries.

The car pusher can be used to move all the cars near the road away from the snow that the city is going to be pushing over the curb when they are plowing. You can use the car pusher to arrange the cars in tighter spaces without risking the damage that driving them and backing them into these spots may cause. You can also push more cars into indoor spots like the service area.

Keeping as many cars as possible indoors will prevent plenty of labor later by minimizing then number of cars that will need cleaning off later. That’s another activity that may lead to some damage and also employee injury. A lot employee working outside may slip on ice and snow left from the storm while cleaning vehicles.

Work on the car lot can’t stop due to inclement weather. The lot owner who wants to minimize costs, damage and injuries could certainly benefit from using a piece of equipment like the car pusher during the winter months.

Vehicle Pushers Provide Safe Solutions for Automotive Industry

Vehicle pushers, car and truck pushers, trailer movers and heavy equipment tugs provide safe solutions for moving cars, trucks, trailers and heavy equipment. DJ Products has designed a line of vehicle pushers, movers and tugs specifically targeted to the automotive industry.

The CarCaddy car and vehicle pusher was designed to push cars, buses and heavy equipment down an assembly line. This battery powered pusher can push any cart, vehicle or piece of equipment that has all straight wheels or is on a rail when no turning is required or when wheels will be turned by an operator. The CarCaddy is used by manufacturers to push units short distances as they are moved from station to station down an assembly line.

In the automotive industry, the CarCaddy is also often used to push stalled vehicles with pneumatic tires that don’t require steering. The CarCaddy has plenty of power to move stalled cars, trucks, campers and buses at service centers and along highways. The CarCaddy prevents the pain and strain of overextended muscles that occurs when vehicles must be manually pushed from a parking area into a service center garage for servicing. The CarCaddy is also a boon for emergency response crews who must often move vehicles from the highway onto the shoulder of the road for servicing or towing.

When sufficient manpower is unavailable, another vehicle is often used to push the stalled vehicle. Even when executed with care, such maneuvers often result in dents, scratches and cracks to one or both vehicles. The CarCaddy Car Pusher is made of a soft, durable, padded material designed to preserve the paint and integrity of the back end of a stalled vehicle. No more dents, scratches and cracks!

A Car Pusher Could Make the New Year Easier for Auto Shops

Moving cars and trucks around on crowded lots can be a pretty difficult chore at any point during the year but the cold, snowy and icy weather of winter tends to make it an even more difficult task.

Injuries are a very common occurrence when auto shop employees are required to manually push automobiles from the lot into a bay for inspection or repair.  If the lot is covered with ice or snow, control becomes an issue and the possibility of injury becomes even greater.

At many auto repair centers, employees will resort to pushing one car with another.  While this practice can reduce the risk of injury and make the work environment a bit safer for employees, it can cause dents and scratches that will require mechanics to perform additional work on the vehicles.

Busy auto shops and car lots can certainly benefit from having a piece of equipment that was specifically designed to safely move vehicles over short distances, like the Car Pusher from DJ Products.  The Car Pusher completely eliminates the stress and strain on employees who are responsible for moving stalled vehicles from one location to another.  The battery powered Car Pusher from DJ Products has plenty of power to move stalled cars, trucks or campers without any extra exertion required from valuable employees.

The Car Pusher is also much safer to the vehicles than other means used to get them from one location to another.  The push pad is constructed of a soft material that is very forgiving and that will not cause the scratches, dings and dents that often come from moving one vehicle with another.
