  • Our CartCAddy5WP has added weight over the drive tires to create the greater traction necessary to move heavier loads, from 3,000 to 20,000 pounds.
  • The CartCaddyHD is the workhorse you need to move heavy duty loads and equipment up to 50,000 pounds.
  • Our RiderCaddy is designed to transport the heaviest loads and can easily move loaded trailers. A built-in platform allows the operator to either sit or stand on the caddy while moving loads at speeds up to 6 mph.

All DJ Products’ power movers are equipped with standard 3-1/2-volt batteries (36-volt system) that provide 16 hours of continuous use before recharging — plenty of power for two full shifts. Our CartCaddies are designed as walk-behind units (or ride-behind in the case of our RiderCaddy) to provide operators maximum control and visibility. Variable-speed, ergonomically-designed twist grips prevent carpal tunnel syndrome and allow operators to maintain smooth control during maneuvering. CartCaddies are capable of both forward and reverse operation and speeds from 0 to 3 mph. A safety stop switch, an essential safety feature, is conveniently located on the back of the handle bar box, allowing the operator to stop the mover instantly to prevent injury.Visit the DJ Products’ website to review the specifications of all our ergonomically-designed CartCaddy products. Technology Changes the Way Material Handling is Performed in 2015

Large warehouse
Business Growth and Automation

When your business grows, can you handle the surge in labor? Technological advances in material handling are making things easier with automation. From manufacturing equipment, to warehouse distribution, to shipment — industrial tugs and other automated material handling solutions are driving growth in all industries.

Forecasts through 2019 call for a compound annual growth rate of more than 8 percent in the material handling industry. The numbers from BCC Research point to high-tech advances ranging from robotics to wearable tech as a source of growth for the next 20 years.

Tech that Makes Material Handling Faster, More Agile

Buzzwords like scalability and flexibility have been around for years. The new tech available are turning those concepts into a key part of everyday operations.

Consider the effects of adding industrial tugs to a warehouse. With a manual wheeled cart, a single employee can only move “X amount” of products around the warehouse floor in a given day. With a motorized tug that pushes or pulls the cart, the employee avoids the physical strain of maneuvering the heavy items all day.

Busier than usual one day? Automated solutions help your existing workforce accomplish more. If order volumes vary by day or season, a warehouse can keep costs down with a right-sized workforce using smart solutions that provide the flexibility and scalability required at all times.

Growing Your Business with Automated Material Handling

If your staff moves inventory, equipment, or vehicles around the worksite, we have industrial powered carts to increase productivity (and reduce worker injury, too).

Cart Puller Improves Worker Attitude in Hospital Laundry

In a cost-benefit analysis of ergonomics in hospital laundries, musculoskeletal injuries decreased and “88% of the workers felt the changes made their work better,” according to the report conducted by the School of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. When you’re watching every dollar in a tight economy, cutting workplace injury and it associated hefty healthcare and insurance costs can give your bottom line a real boost.Implementing ergonomic solutions like DJ Products’ cart puller to workplace problems provides the added advantage of increasing employee morale. When employees are happy, productivity, efficiency, quality and customer service improve right along with employee satisfaction. You benefit, and equally important, your customers benefit. It’s the ultimate win-win scenario. In the two-year Canadian study of three laundries, both laundries that implemented ergonomic improvements and trained employees in ergonomic practices enjoyed a marked decrease in worker injury and unexpected escalation in employee job satisfaction. No changes in injury rate or employee psychosocial factors were noted in the control laundry which made no changes. The benefit-to-cost ratios for the two test laundries were 0.97 and 1.5, “demonstrating a one-year or less payback on ergonomic improvements,” the study reported. In addition to medical/insurance savings, the greatest returns on investment were reported “in productivity and savings in overtime, turnover and return-to-work costs,” study authors noted. The incidence of medical costs and lost man-hours dropped from 48.8% to just 18.6% over the two-year study. The boon to workers was even more extraordinary. Questionnaires asked  employees to assess how implemented ergonomic improvements had impacted their jobs:

  • 70% reported that ergonomic improvements made their jobs less physically demanding
  • 69% said they were less tired
  • 75% noted less muscle soreness
  • 75% said their job was now more interesting and more varied
  • 93% said they felt happier and more satisfied about their job
