The CartCaddyHD ChainDrive electric tug is the heavy-duty upgrade to the CartCaddyHD – 5WP. The 6,000 lb. hydraulic lift system transfers weight from the load to its drive wheels where the electric tugger/cart gets its traction.
One of the most common applications of the CartCaddyHD ChainDrive cart mover is the cart with two straight casters and two front swivel casters. When attached to the swivel caster, the CartCaddyHD ChainDrive electric tugger provides the pushing and pulling power that is necessary for easy turning and smooth maneuvering with the cart mover.
The CartCaddyHD ChainDrive’s powerful 3hp motor can provide up to 2,000 lbs. of horizontal push and pull force, eliminating the need for a forklift in heavy cart and equipment pulling applications. The CartCaddy gets its traction by transferring weight from the cart to its drive wheels with a 6,000 lb. hydraulic lift kit. It works well on carts with casters that need turning or carts on a rail that go straight forward or backwards. If the load or cart needs turning and maneuvering, the customer generally needs to install a heavy, fixed steel tongue that extends out and up at least 18″ from the end of the load. The end of this tongue will include a ball coupler or pintle “eye”. This tongue allows the mover’s lift to push up, transferring up to 6,000 lbs. to the drive tires for the added traction. The out and upward extension lets the wheels of the CartCaddy turn under the tongue, giving the unit the ability to make a 90 degree turn to the cart. The CartCaddyHD ChainDrive can push or pull loads up to 50,000 lbs.
The CartCaddyHD Chain Drive comes standard with a 36v system (3 – 12v batteries) designed to give the operator 16-hours of use before recharging. There’s usually plenty of battery life to last two shifts.
The mover has a variable speed twist grip for forward and reverse cart directions from 0 to 3 mph. The ergonomically correct variable speed feature prevents carpal tunnel and allows the operator to maintain smooth control while intricately maneuvering the cart. The CartCaddyHD Chain Drive’s ability to go 2 mph allows the machine to keep up with the operator without frustration from waiting for a slowly operating machine when moving the unit from point A to B throughout your facility
The safety stop switch positioned at the back of the handlebar box immediately stops the mover when pressed to prevent any possible injury from operating the device and pulling a cart. This feature is a must when buying any piece of equipment.
The hydraulic lift option and customized attachment prevent you from having to fabricate multiple attachments on each of your carts or equipment. The CartCaddyHD Chain Drive lift kit transfers weight from your cart to the front drive wheels of the CartCaddy for better traction when moving your load.
This mover is designed for easy maneuvering and pivoting of your loads. After the arm is attached firmly to your carts or equipment, the unit can pivot a full 180 degrees under the arm. This feature allows for turning your loads a full 90 degrees without jack knifing your cart or manually turning the front of you load.

The CartCaddyLite electric cart puller can help avoid back strain for many people in the healthcare industry. Doctors, nurses, technicians, maintenance workers, and more can benefit from using this piece of equipment to efficiently complete some of their day-to-day tasks, all while avoiding unnecessary workplace injuries.
Linen carts used to transport linens to and from patient rooms are often very large and difficult to move through the constricted hallways of a nursing home, clinic, or hospital. Pushing carts repeatedly throughout the day can cause chronic neck and back strain and pain for workers. The CartCaddyLite is a perfect solution: it reduces stress and cuts down the risk of workplace injuries.
